Apparently, I did the old Bodyshop switcheroo for whatever reason and had erroneously tucked them in a folder that was for object recolors that I'd planned on doing for my DW or the low poly theme. It didn't happen because I was all bombed out. Anywhoo, I was cleaning of my desktop, something I do before a big project because of stuff like this. I was peeking in the folders to see if it was stuff I wanted just for me or thought others might like it. I saw a folder that said back up, and even though I was like, "Naw, it couldn't be." It is like the second version of everything if the date reads correctly. Either way I'm ecstatic. I'll be in Milkshape checking them out, then checking them in bodyshop.

On another note, I'm thinking of moving shop to Blogger, because of the photobucket crap I'm going through. Every month now I'm getting an email saying upgrade because I'm almost at limit. I've added an imgur account for WIP pics and the like but it's sort of annoying, and I really don't like imgur for permanent stuff. I have a Picasa album and it's so very easy to plug and play at Blogger.

I liked LJ, but I like it here better; at the same time, what if I want to pic spam etc, I really can't because I'm worried about going over the limit at PB. I'm not pulling out the violins or anything like that. I'm really fishing for advice.

LiveJournal plus accounts do not run out of bandwidth for their scrapbooks, and you can hotlink their images. If you fill one up, you can always start another. I'll be using LJ's scrapbook for anything that would violate Photobucket's decency laws-- er, terms of service-- and while I don't like LJ's policies anymore (I was over there before they sold to 6 Apart), it's still dead handy to have somewhere to keep up with the bazillion Simmers still over there.

Course, I also paid for two years on Photobucket before Photobucket went stupid about allowing non-North-American users to see anything. I'm hoping by the time I 'need' to renew over there, I won't be so cheesed at them for their shenanigans.

Fffff also I'm glad you found all your vintage stuff! Redundant backups are in fact awesome. (I totally meant to say that along with the poll-related stuff.)

I'm so glad you found backups stashed away! It's such a relief when that happens.

I don't really have any advice except to say I'm one of those people who can't keep track of folks if they're too many different places (poor memory + lots of non-hobby commitments = oh, right, I haven't checked that bookmark for six months!), so I'd be sad to see you move off of DW.

Speaking of file hosting sites being able to host pictures, I remember lalabubus mentioning that she uses Dropbox for both and finds it really reliable. Perhaps that'd be a good solution, too, since I know they offer a fair amount for free and they're reliable enough I know professional authors who backup their work there.
