I'm really falling in love with the vintage look and I think it ties in well with the thrift/shabby chic theme of my current game. Now I'm working on a shirt waist dress and AlfredAskew sent me a link to this amazing site with the most glorious shoes I've ever seen. Now I must mesh them.

Is this another sign that I'm avoiding fighting with the shawl collar blouse, avoid stuff, me. NAH.

Either way, I stayed up way to late and came up with these 3 shoe meshes. What do you guys think? I don't think any of them match perfectly but with a skilled texturer working on them I think they can get the job done.

Yes, this is a blatant cry for help in the texturing dept. I can offer you lots of weird mesh attempts and even worse texturing but you'd have the goodies before anyone else would. Seriously. The only caveat is that I sort of like non photo skinned skins/ flood fills. If you're interested in being inundated with lots of stuff sign up here.

Okay, now that I've debased myself, here are the wip shots, and yes they're different sizes.

and the dress.

Yes ?

Another inspiration picture

Adding a couple more inspiration pictures I've found for slips/ nightgowns.

I was thinking an alpha dress with bare feet/ sexy feet would be great for these, would anyone like them as everyday as well with shoes.

I really like the jenna and uberfamily ones (I was going to use sentate's ones for a mesh but those are more fitting for my game). I like that they're not too high XD (I don't even wear heels myself but some sims outfits need them).

Ouch! I can't stand up in heels at all, I tried when I was younger but decided it wasn't worth the bother in the end. Yeah, I like how smooth and rounded the jenna ones are too.

The uberfamily edit is nice! There aren't a lot of nice heels out there so I'm looking forward the this.

Loving the jennas, very working girl shoes! Well actually I love them all. I wish I had the time to help you with the textures :(

Do you have any plans for what to put them on?

Oh I love that ad, they were so much more stylish back in the days.
I don't have any suggestions, yet. But rest assured I will come running to you when I have :)

The new job is going great! I really love it, thank you for asking :D

Actually! I did find something I would like to see them on. I'm slowly retexturing this skirt by amaryll http://witheredlilies.livejournal.com/6791.html#cutid1 making it into (surprise!) a high waist skirt, but I'm honestly quite sick of flats. I will do the flats version regardless but I think those Jenna shoes would look nice as well, and fit my vintage theme better. If you find the inspiration and time somewhere :)

Oh, my, that vintage ad is great.

I have to say that I don't like the majority of heels, though adore some :). As for your choice - jenna seems lovely because they are not that tiny and sandals alike and they do give the vintage impression to me.
I thought this link might help if you are still looking for more ideas, if not for this particular project but in any further case:

Just wanted to say that I adore those vintage shoes - they are gorgeous, and I'd kill for a pair in real life - and that you're doing a grand job of meshing them! Sadly, my texturing skills are pretty lacking, so I shall just have to watch from the sidelines, but I do hope someone more talented than I can help you out. ;)

Oh I want those green shoes so so badly! And how awesome would they be for a sim like Florence Delarosa? Also I would love to see number 4 of the nightgowns as a formally type dress with heels. Your shoe edits look great. I like what you've done with the Bruno ones. But the uberfamily are my favourites. Can't wait to see that finished dress

I apologise for the gushing but vintage is a great passion of mine that alas I can only indulge through Sims now. I hate being broke!

texturing offer

So I'm a total nobody in the community, and I'm sure you've never heard of me, but I'd be willing to take a shot at texturing those shoes... I've wanted to sidle my way into the DW community for a while but I wasn't quite ballsy enough. I'm not spectacular, but the worst that will happen is you won't like what I do. I'm Jane, and you can email me: janesamborski(at)gmail.com

Harrumph. But fair enough. I might get around to creating an account over the weekend, if I do I'll let you know.

Oh! Funny what one stumbles upon late at night. Isn't that site fun?

Incidentally, I think I'm pretty alright at hand texturing, and I'd definitely give some of those shoes a go if you want. :)
